  • Dr.
    Grant Nixon
    Veterinarian
    Dr. Nixon has been practicing compassionate veterinary medicine in Penticton for 18 years. He completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon in 1991. He has co-written a Canadian best-selling book called Better Food for Dogs. Featured on our homepage this book is a complete dietary guide for your dog based on home prepared feeding. He is very busy outside of the clinic with four children, Lauren, Greg, Daniel and Julia, and a furry child Josie (miniature Daschund). Dr Nixon is active in the youth soccer community coaching at least one of his kids soccer teams. Dr Nixon has always kept active in the past with bodybuilding and competeing in Ironman in 2003. He curently enjoys his pre-work waterskiing whenever he gets a chance.

    David Kopp
    Veterinarian

    He graduated from University of Saskatchewan in 1996 and immediately joined Dr. Nixon at the Lindsey Veterinary Hospital where he has remained ever since. Dr. Kopp has committed a portion of his time to community service through the rotary and is currently a ten year member of the Naramata Fire Department. Dr. Kopp's greatest passion is his family. He and his wife Magnhild spend their time with their son Christopher and daughter Hillary camping, hiking, travelling, renovating, and socializing. Equally important members of the family are their dogs Jersey and Chewbacca, and rescue dog Melissa. Dr. Kopp's life philosophy is to keep busy, to make a positive contribution and to continually strive for personal improvement. 'There is no greater joy than to help the companions with which we share our lives.

    Jennifer Kenyon
    Veterinarian
    Jen grew up right here in the south Okanagan with her large family and numerous pets. She attended the University of Victoria for 2 years to attain her pre-vet courses and then graduated from the University of Sydney in Australia in 2013 with her veterinary degree. After graduation, she worked in Kelowna for 2 years in general practice. Now she is very excited to be back in her hometown! Her veterinary interests include internal medicine, feline medicine, and working with rescue groups. In her spare time, Jen spends as much time as possible with her family hiking, mountain biking, cross country skiing and running. Her fur family includes a kelpie cross named Mud, a cat named Twiggy and usually a foster animal or two!

  • Samantha
    Manager, Registered Veterinary Technician

    Growing up on a farm in Saskatchewan surrounded by animals led to a passion for caring for animals. Samantha has been with Lindsey Veterinary Hospital since 2001. She stays active with slo-pitch and wallyball, and busy spending time with friends and snuggling pets. She has 2 cats named Farley and Karma, and 2 dogs chihuahuas named Bella and Tia. She is a strong advocate for small breed dogs and nicknamed 'The Chihuahua Whisperer'.

    Registered Veterinary Technician

    Just a small town girl, but not living a lonely world as Lindsey has always been surrounded by animals! Lindsey's current pets include her mini schnauzer Theodor, her bearded dragon Bernadette, and her boyfriend. On her off time you'll find Lindsey skating around the roller derby track, hiking up a mountain, or riding down one on a snowboard. 

  • Shelley
    Registered Veterinary Technician

    Shelley has been working as an veterinary technician since 1995! Her first baby, a beautiful Doberman ‘Jean-Luc’ enjoyed many years competing in conformation, obedience, hiking, camping, travelling and he was even ring bearer at her wedding. Shelley is now the proud mamma of 2 beautiful girls (yes, humans), a 16 year old Border Terrier ‘Bean’, a loyal rescue dog ‘Biscuit’, a rescue cat ‘Thomas’ Magnum (rescue) and 2 rats named ‘Tattertot’ (rescue) and ‘Boo’.  She enjoys hiking with the dogs, traveling, gardening, crafting, and building with her daughters fun adventures for their rats. Her house and heart are full but beware, she may try to mother your pets as well.

    Registered Veterinary Technician

    Carrie has been a veterinary technician since 1993! She shares her space with 2 Irish Setters “Journey” and “Twist”. When not out hiking with her girls you’ll probably find her out running or enjoying a coffee at the local coffee shop with a good book.

  • Kim
    Registered Veterinary Technician

    Kim has four fur-babies- three cats. Broly, Skwizgar and Sclounce; and a dog, Cole, who was her enrichment dog at school in Ontario. When not taking care of her little friends, she likes to let her hair down, literally, by going to concerts and festivals where she can let the animal inside her out! Kim is also a big gamer and can usually be found at her computer playing all sorts of games, from action-adventure to puzzles-while still rocking out of course! However, nothing beats a good ol' hike with Cole or some snuggle time with the cats. 

  • Telane
    Registered Veterinary Technician

    Telane (a transplant from Saskatchewan) has two cats, Pounce and Bindi, that get to be beta testers for everything cat related! When not spoiling her kitties, Telane enjoys lounging on the beach, swimming, reading, volleyball, and spending time with her family. Her particular areas of interest include behaviour, environmental enrichment, nutrition, and lab work.

    Heather was born and raised in Quebec. She moved out to Lake Louise for a few years before moving to Penticton. Heather has been working here since1993 . She started out as a kennel technician and moved up to receptionist from there. 'I really enjoy interacting with the clients and their pets.' She has a love for dogs and currently has two Scottish Deerhounds, Summer and Rayne. Heather loves to go hiking with her dogs and you can often spot her walking her 'big, grey, weird-looking dogs' around town.

  • Mandie
    Reception

    Mandie was raised in the Okanagan in a home with many animals and spent a lot of time outside with them. She enjoys walks at the beach and especially loves evening cuddles with her old man Teddy, and zany little lady Holly.

  • Naomi
    Veterinary Assistant

    Naomi moved to Penticton from North Vancouver in 2004, with her 1 kitty, Tye. She’s been collecting pets ever since! Her heart is now owned by 4 senior cats and 3 magnificent mutts. On her days off, you will either find Naomi up a mountain with the dogs taking thousands of pictures, or having a blast at a Rally Obedience trial. Her dogs Bentley, Jaymie, and Hattie have numerous titles in several different dog sports including Rally Obedience, Agility, Scent Detection and Trick Training. She is constantly taking training classes with her dogs and admits she is a dog sport addict.

    Reception/ Veterinary Assistant

    Anita is an okanagan girl who loves all things the Okanagan has to offer. Sunshine, the beach, hiking, kayaking, camping, star gazing and howling at the moon with her bichon shihtzu named Ladybug. Anita joined the Lindsey Vet team in 2014 and when not at work, you can find Anita sharing her big heart by volunteering at a local charity shoppe for sick and needy animals.

    Veterinary Assistant

    After Tianna graduated from her Veterinary Assistant program, she rescued a dog named Prada which influenced her to open her heart to animals who need a home as she now has two cats named Link and Cleo. In her free time she always has her headphones on, with a cat on her lap and playing the Legend of Zelda as she named her cat Link after the main character!

    Linda has been working at our hospital since 1997. She keeps busy with a passion for encaustic art, shoe shopping and spending time with her husband and 5 grandchildren.
