Meet Our Staff

  • Dr.
    Grant Nixon
    Dr. Nixon has been practicing compassionate veterinary medicine in Penticton for 18 years. He completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon in 1991. He has co-written a Canadian best-selling book called Better Food for Dogs. Featured on our homepage this book is a complete dietary guide for your dog based on home prepared feeding. He is very busy outside of the clinic with four children, Lauren, Greg, Daniel and Julia, and a furry child Josie (miniature Daschund). Dr Nixon is active in the youth soccer community coaching at least one of his kids soccer teams. Dr Nixon has always kept active in the past with bodybuilding and competeing in Ironman in 2003. He curently enjoys his pre-work waterskiing whenever he gets a chance.

    David Kopp
    He graduated from University of Saskatchewan in 1996 and immediately joined Dr. Nixon at the Lindsey Veterinary Hospital where he has remained ever since. Dr. Kopp has committed a portion of his time to community service through the rotary and is currently a ten year member of the Naramata Fire Department. Dr. Kopp's greatest passion is his family. He and his wife Magnhild spend their time with their son Christopher and daughter Hillary camping, hiking, travelling, renovating, and socializing. Equally important members of the family are their dogs Jersey and Chewbacca, and cat Stitch. Dr. Kopp's life philosophy is to keep busy, to make a positive contribution and to continually strive for personal improvement. 'There is no greater joy than to help the companions with which we share our lives.'

    Jennifer Kenyon
    Jen grew up right here in the south Okanagan with her large family and numerous pets. She attended the University of Victoria for 2 years to attain her pre-vet courses and then graduated from the University of Sydney in Australia in 2013 with her veterinary degree. After graduation, she worked in Kelowna for 2 years in general practice. Now she is very excited to be back in her hometown! Her veterinary interests include internal medicine, feline medicine, and working with rescue groups. In her spare time, Jen spends as much time as possible with her family hiking, mountain biking, cross country skiing and running. Her fur family includes a kelpie cross named Mud, a cat named Twiggy and usually a foster animal or two!
  • Samantha
    Veterinary Technician, Manager
    Samantha was born and raised in a small town in Saskatchewan surrounded by animals. She graduated in 2000 from the Veterinary Technology program at SIAST in Saskatoon. Shortly after graduation she packed up all her small car could hold and moved west. Having never been to Penticton before she was a little unsure at first, but once here she knew Penticton is a place to stay. Samantha has been with Lindsey Veterinary Hospital since 2001 and really enjoys her job. She has also taken on the management position which keeps her pretty busy. 'I like the variety that working with animals brings. We rarely have a boring day. The job has its ups and downs though. It lifts my heart to see pets go home healthy and breaks my heart when they don't go home.' She has 2 cats named Farley and Karma (a Bengal), and 2 dogs named Bella and Tia (Chihuahuas).
  • Lindsey
    Animal Health Technician
    Lindsey was born and raised in a small Ontario town on a little hobby farm, where her love for animals began. She graduated from the veterinary assistant program then furthered her education to complete the veterinary technician course at Georgian College. After working 2 years in a small animal practise in Ontario she was ready for a change. Lindsey made the move to the beautiful Okanagan to join the team at Lindsey Vet Hospital. Her interests include emergency care and surgery. In her spare time Lindsey enjoys hiking with her mini schnauzer Theodor, cooking/baking, snowboarding and roller derby.
  • Shelley
    Animal Health Technican
    Shelley graduated from the Animal Health Technology Program at Olds College in 1995. She lived and worked in Calgary and Bragg Creek after graduation where she remained for the next 5 years, eventually moving back to the Okanagan where she grew up. Shelley has worked at a variety of animal clinics gaining experience with small and large animals as well as exotics. She has taken a special interest in anesthesia, small animal nutrition, geriatric medicine and canine behavior. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is the special bonds she gets to form with the patients and their owners. Shelley enjoys spending time with her family, hiking with her two dogs Bean and Biscuit, traveling, gardening, crafting and attempting to snuggle her cat Thomas Magnum (much to his chagrin).
  • Carrie
    Animal Health Technician
    Carrie graduated from the University College of the Cariboo with her Animal Health Technology degree in 1993. Her career has taken her from Victoria to Calgary, where she worked at a family run practice for close to 16 years, before the call of BC became too great and she found herself here in the Okanagan Valley and joining the team at Lindsey Veterinary Hospital. She shares her space with 2 Irish Setters “Journey” and “Twist”. When not out hiking with her girls you’ll probably find her out running or enjoying a coffee at the local coffee shop with a good book.
  • Heather
    Heather was born and raised in Quebec. She moved out to Lake Louise for a few years before moving to Penticton. Heather has been working here since1993 . She started out as a kennel technician and moved up to receptionist from there. 'I really enjoy interacting with the clients and their pets.' She has a love for dogs and currently has two Scottish Deerhounds, Summer and Rayne. Heather loves to go hiking with her dogs and you can often spot her walking her 'big, grey, weird-looking dogs' around town.

  • Naomi
    Technician Assistant/ Kennel Technician
    Naomi was born and raised in North Vancouver and moved to the Okanagan in 2004. She's been working at Lindsey Veterinary Hospital since 2006 and really enjoys being able to work with animals. Naomi loves spending her spare time with her furry family. Her favourite activities include hiking in the hills surrounding Penticton with her marvelous mutts, and taking many pictures while doing so. She also enjoys training her dogs in both agility and rally obedience, and would love to try out other dog sports as well one day.
  • Linda
    Linda has been working at our hospital since 1997. 'I am happy to be working with such a great group of people at Lindsey Veterinary Hospital.' She and her husband returned to the Penticton area after living in Vancouver for over 20 years. They both went to high school in Penticton and knew they would return sooner or later, and actually ended up here sooner than they planned. She and her husband live in a lovely little valley on the east side of Skaha Lake.
